Here in the North, we spend a fair amount of time in the winter practicing our best moves as we wrestle with bout after bout of snow. Perfecting double leg takedowns of drifts with our grain scoops, pile driving snowbanks with our plows, scoring huge takedowns with our roof rakes, resorting to the occasional illegal body slam on hard ice with our axes, we know we need to master every move in order to keep things cleared. But there’s nothing quite as satisfying as working on a seemingly immovable, frozen section of windblown hardpack with a snowblower, pressing it in a Full Nelson until it finally cries “uncle!” and gets pinned against a tree.
