Back in the day, when people used to ask what our weather was like we used to quip with a wink and a nod “11 months of winter, one month of tough sledding, eh?.” While winter’s grip has been softening the past decades, our northern DNA protects us from being too easily fooled by a warm, spring-like day in February, because we all know, and some of us still hope, we can easily wake up to a beautiful winter morning for a few months yet. Just think how dull spring would be without the endless winter as its mother.
