Over the 4th, those of us who live here year-round welcome our loved one’s home from near and far. At first there is always more jockeying going on than at the Kentucky Derby for everyone to remember their place and how we fit together as families, but before long we find our groove down by the lake, catching a few rays, telling old stories, listening to the younger ones talk about careers and travels, understanding the travels, not so much the careers (bitcoined windfall, drone data-driven what?) and marveling at just how much, no matter what, our shiny shells all really do look alike.
