The first day of every fall, the concept of gravity once again takes center stage. As billions of tons of pine needles and leaves turn and slowly creep eyes wide open to the very edge for the big plunge, I know from my own past brushes with deciduousness what awaits at the bottom. I think thats why there are such strong winds in fall-to provide the lift needed to make the landing soft and snug as a way of saying thanks for the beautiful show.
